CO2 - Neutral Manufacturing

Solar inverters made by KACO generate clean energy – and the company itself produces these inverters while reducing harmful emissions. With a total of around 400 kW of installed photovoltaic power on our factories, our photovoltaic plants feed almost as much energy into the grid as is consumed in the production facilities.

The Logistics and Innovation Center in Erlenbach (Factory 2) is heated with gas from a lion® CHP (Combined Heat and Power Plant). The heat for the production facilities (Factory 1 and 3) comes from a wood-chip CHP. Electricity for all locations is bought from the Elektrizitätswerke Schönau (EWS) an eco-power provider. This electricity is also used to power the company-owned electric vehicles used by the staff members to commute between the company premises as well as for short in town commuting.

To compensate for harmful emissions caused by business trips, KACO is engaged in the international “myclimate” initiative, which supports projects for the direct reduction of green-house gases.  KACO is rigourously pursuing other ancillary tactics to eliminate the net emissions of our activities to ensure that how we manufacture is as "Green" as the electricity our inverters make.
