Company HistoryKACO began manufacturing sine inverters more than 60 years ago. The product portfolio offered by KACO today is being used around the globe for rail vehicle and photovoltaic applications. - 2009 Reorganization as KACO new energy GmbH and opening up of new business fields, among others in the mobility sector.
- 2008 Start of the new logistics centre and commencement of Factory 4.
- 2007 KACO builds up a new research and development team for central inverters in Korea.
- 2006 KACO establishes its new production centre, Factory 3, in Neckarsulm.
- 2005 KACO opens up its new Logistics and Innovation Center, Factory 2, in Erlenbach. Startup of a new Research and Development Center in Kassel.
- 2003 KACO GERÄTETECHNIK GmbH moves to its new facilities in Neckarsulm.
- 1999 The expanding KACO GERÄTETECHNIK profit centre reforms as an independent company under the name of KACO GERÄTETECHNIK GmbH.
- 1994 First development activities in the field of photovoltaics.
- 1953 KACO manufactures the first thyristor inverters.
- 1950 KACO becomes the world leader in the production of electromechanical choppers – the predecessors of today’s inverters.
- 1944 - 1945 In the wake of World War II, the factory is destroyed and later built up again.
- 1940 The company starts focusing on the production of choppers and inverters, i.e. devices that convert direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC).
- 1927 The product range was extended to include electrotechnical products and ever since, has been extended and upgraded continually.
- 1914 Founded under the name of “Kupfer-Asbest-Company Gustav Bach“ (KACO), the company was Germany’s first special factory to produce ring gaskets for use in the automotive industry.
